PLX Asia, a new B2B platform designed to connect retailers, manufacturers, and solution providers across Southeast Asia, was formally introduced on 29 May 2026 through an Industry Leadership Summit held during THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026 in Bangkok.
Addressing a Sourcing Gap in the Region
Private label has become a core growth driver for retailers in mature markets across China, Europe, and North America, where brands use private labels to improve margins and respond faster to consumer demand. Southeast Asia is now entering a similar inflection point, with strong original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and original design manufacturer (ODM) capabilities, growing modern retail, and an expanding middle class creating room for private label growth. Yet the region's ecosystem remains fragmented, creating friction in sourcing and slowing time-to-market.
PLX Asia is being developed to reduce that fragmentation by bringing retailers and manufacturers into a single, focused ecosystem. The platform aims to improve speed-to-market and enable more strategic collaboration across the private label value chain.
Thailand Positions Itself as a Manufacturing Hub
Thailand's competitive advantage in private label production goes beyond cost or capacity, according to the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Thai manufacturers integrate product development, design, and production to meet international standards for quality, safety, and sustainability. High-growth sectors include food, healthcare, jewellery, and fashion, where flexible manufacturing and specialized expertise position the country as a regional hub.
A Curated Model, Not a Traditional Trade Show
PLX Asia differs from conventional trade exhibitions. Rather than prioritizing scale and quantity, it is being developed as a curated, outcomes-driven platform that emphasizes meaningful business engagement, trust, category expertise, and long-term partnerships. The kick-off summit convened more than 200 senior decision-makers from retail, manufacturing, packaging, and investment communities across Southeast Asia and beyond.
Scope and Coverage
The platform covers both food and non-food categories, including food and beverage, beauty and personal care, household products, pet care, packaging, branding, and product development. The full-scale PLX Asia trade exhibition is planned for 2027 as a standalone event.
The initiative is led by the Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse, with Daymon serving as the official knowledge partner.
